Sorry I didn’t write this morning. I had a rough night. I’ve had a cold that’s been keeping me up at night. I spend the night coughing and with a sore throat. My plan yesterday was to stay in except for a trip to the drug store for cold meds and cough drops. Guess who didn’t do that. That counts as being an idiot. I never slept for more than a few hours at a time. Today I got smart and went shopping at a supermarket with a pharmacy section. I bought Cold + Flu Severe and Halls cherry cough drops. Ignore the names of cold remedies and look at the active ingredients. This had:
- Acetaminophen 325mg – pain reliever/fever reducer
- Dextromethorphan HBr 10 mg – Cough suppressant
- Guaifenesin 20 mg – Expectorant
- Phenylephrine – Nasal decongestant
The most important for me is Dextromethorphan; it’s a game changer. I got home, took two tablets, and have not coughed since. When my throat tickled I took a cough drop. I spent less than $8 and my quality of life improved dramatically.
Sorry, that’s all I got. I probably won’t blog in the morning as I have to leave at the time I usually finish blogging and start eating. I’m not leaving without my breakfast.
