Dateline WFUV: I’m once again writing from the phone room at the radio station. I’m supervising the phone volunteers during the member drive. I am spending virtually no time at home out of bed. Yesterday I went straight from the station to Rockwood Music Hall for the April Edition of John Platt’s On Your Radar. John’s guests were Sara Milanovich and Daisycutter, Hyland and Brunnock, and Scott Krokoff. The only one i was familiar with is Sara. She plays violin with Carolann Solebello and Richard Shindell. It was an unusal audience, half of them were Scott’s coworkers. He’s a lawyer. He’s from my old neighborhood and went to Cardozo.
You can hear anything at On Your Radar, Sara covered Led Zeppelin. Weirdly it’s her violin that gives it the Zep sound. The F and D trains stop running at 9:30 so Fred and I had to run away to catch our trains. We made the F but the D train took forever. I had to wait 20 minutes, the last thing I want when i have to get up early the next day. decided that I’m going to come in an hour later this morning. I set my alarm for 6 not 5.
I’m going out again tonight. Gene texted me yesterday and said he had an extra ticket for the Met game. I’m going to leave here at 4;30 or so. meet Gene and 6. Hopefully the game will be over around 10:30 and I’ll be home by midnight. I’ll set my alarm for 6 again. Home is nothing but a pit stop.
