For Once I’m Not the Idiot

I seriously considered not writing today but then I thought about My Gentle Readers and decided that I can’t disappoint you. I have an idiot story, I’m just not sure who the idiot is. I just double checked. I am not the idiot. It was somebody at the New York Times. I read this article, ‘The Dark Crystal’ Returns on an Even Grander Scale. I’m a huge Dark Crystal fan and was very excited. The article was dated August 20 and revised yesterday, Friday August 23. In the article it said, ““The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance,” premiering Friday on Netflix, …” It said that twice. Yesterday was Friday, when I read that I figured I’d watch that when I got home and posted the article on Facebook and told every to start watching it. Then in a comment Phil asked if the release date was Friday, August 30. When I got home I went to the Netflix website and saw that Phil, not the New York Times was right. I was personally disappointed and my reputation for accuracy took a hit. I should sue the Times for damaging my brand.

I had therapy yesterday. I gave my therapist homework, watch Dark Crystal. Now she is going to put in my official file that I’m a fabulist. That can be a good thing for me, a fabulist was elected president. I did my homework; I recorded an edition of Gord’s Gold on Folk Music Notebook. I get extra credit. I saw that Sunny War had a new album out. I wrote to her management and requested a digital copy. They got right back to me. I not only downloaded it, I put a copy on my phone. My phone doesn’t have a lot of memory available so I keep little music on it, mainly ringtones. I did have room to download one album and I realized I can keep changing which is on it. This is the perfect way to first listen to an album. When I’m home I’m distracted by my computer and my phone. I chose to make the 30-minute walk from the train station to therapy and that’s when I listened to the bulk of the album. I gave it a second listen last night as I wrote about it. I find it best to write the Gord’s Gold segments and then read them. I was pleased with what I came up with, in particular the money quote, the one I can see the artist using in their press section. I can’t give it here; you’ll have to listen when it’s aired.
