Licensed to Drive

I’m writing early again. I seem to have fallen into a good habit for a change. I did work at this, but it has much to do with sleeping better. My digestive system and sleep apnea aren’t making trouble. It’s nice waking up and not wanting to go right back to sleep. I had trouble getting to sleep last night, the people above me had the wildebeests stamping through their apartment again. I have no idea what they are doing to make those noises and no idea how they can’t see that it’s wrong to do it at 1 AM.

Last night I went back to the Department of Motor Vehicles. This time the only problem was having to wait more than an hour and a half for my number to call and that’s after waiting on the first line to get my number. The woman I finally dealt with wasn’t especially nice but unlike everyone else I dealt with there she was professional, helpful, understanding that I wasn’t perfect, and even smiled. When I got my temporary license, I told her how much I appreciated her. I could see from her reaction that she appreciated it. If you sincerely feel good about someone, tell them. I once again have my license to drive. Next thing to replace, my license to kill. SPECTRE has been having a field day.

I did get some reading done despite the fact that people around me were making so much noise with their phones. I hate people putting their phone on speaker in a public place and shouting so they can be heard. I was told this came from reality TV, especially The Apprentice; it’s Trump’s fault. Others were listening to music loudly or playing games.

Then I realized I needed to get on my phone. I got tickets from WFUV for Richard Thompson tonight and I had to fine my +1. I learned that when I’m in that situation I can’t ask someone and wait for them to get back to me. It doesn’t give me enough time. I have to ask many people at once and let them know that I’m doing that. I went on a texting frenzy and found someone. One strange thing happened, I texted someone and it went to her email not her phone. I’ve received emails like that too. You don’t know who they are from as it lists the phone number not the name. I have no idea why that happened, but I discovered that another friend never got a text from me and I’m guessing the same thing happened. I’m trying to figure out from my settings how it happened. No luck so far.

Last night I went to the Knicks – Suns game. I was able to go because Alan emailed me a replacement for the ticket that was stolen. The police were on alert looking for my stolen ticket. The detective in charge of the case could see my seat through the cameras in MSG. They didn’t catch the guy. And the Knicks were blown out. Let’s see how closely you pay attention, where did I eat? It’s usually the same place when I go to Knick games. The answer is the Nathan’s in Penn Station.

I finished the blog early so now I can make breakfast and watch The Good Place with plenty of time before I have to leave for therapy.
