It’s a good thing when I don’t write about my health. Today I’m going to write about my health. I threw my back out on Friday. I wasn’t even sure I was using the term correctly until double checked with Google. It means I strained a muscle in my back. I did it just reaching over to pick up a piece of bread off a table while I was standing. Fred says that’s reaching for something is a common cause. I keep think I’m getting better, then it comes back. When I’m home I alternately use a heating pad and an ice pack. I feel fine. Then I go out and out of nowhere I get the shooting pain. I’ve had enough of it. Sitting here in my recliner with a heating pad it feels great. I’m guessing it won’t when I try to do more.
Because of the bad back I can’t do laundry. Because I can’t do laundry I had to buy underwear. I went to Marshall’s, where I always buy my underwear. They had no briefs. What is this? A conspiracy? When I looked online I saw a dearth of briefs. I ended up getting boxer briefs. I put on a pair. It’s one article of clothing? Why is it a pair? Why is it briefs, not a brief? Why are they boxers, not a boxer? That’s not the part that has me confused. It’s that they don’t have a fly. Who makes men’s underwear without a fly? Someone with no knowledge of male anatomy? Now I know how women feel wearing clothes designed by men.
Last night I went to the Knicks – Wizards game. The Knicks have been doing much better of late. The Knicks lost; much better than sucking is sucking less. Rooting for the Knicks is even more difficult than rooting for the Mets and Jets. Alan has a new thing; he doesn’t take his seat until after the national anthem is played. This is a protest against Trump, but it’s the wrong protest. It’s doing exactly what Trump does, confounding himself with the country. The left cannot abandon patriotism to the right. We protest against Trump because we ARE patriotic. It’s Trump that is acting un-American. He’s the one that doesn’t believe that all men are created equal. He’s the one that doesn’t believe in the rule of law. He’s the one that doesn’t believe in checks and balances and attacks the constitution, or as he put it, “the phony constitution.” I want people to know that I am against Trump, because I love my country, not as they too often suppose, because I hate it.
