Oh no, I don’t think I did any interesting food yesterday. The only innovation was cooking my cheddarwurst in the deep fryer instead on my stovetop grill. This was not to make them taste better but to save effort. I used the deep fryer anyway to make the potatoes. I figured this was more efficient and has less cleanup. In other words, I was being lazy.
I’ve reached the point that I’m listening to so many streaming concerts that I forgot what they were. I remember the last. I had decided that I had my fill for the day and then got a message that South for Winter went live on Facebook. I couldn’t resist. I was the first one watching and made sure others listened too. It’s been less than a year and they still have New Band Smell. The more I hear them the more I love them. This was not an official streaming concert but a tech rehearsal for the show on Thursday. I highly recommend that everyone do a tech rehearsal before the real thing. Make sure everything works and that you know what you are doing before you do a show that you invite people to.
Wow, I started this in the morning, it’s now 6 PM. I got distracted many times. Let’s talk phone calls as that’s my direct socializing now. I’m trying to call someone every day which leads to the problem, “whom do I call?” Yesterday I called my sister Alison. Shortly after we hung up I got a text from Joe M to call him. I called and a woman answered. I was confused. That was Joe being funny, it was his friend Bailey. I met her on Thanksgiving a few years ago. I had three conversations for the price of two. I’m having more quality conversation now than usual. Today Deni asked me to call her and we talked for an hour. I’m getting quality time with quality people. It might get confusing as I spoke to Joe C one day and Joe M the next. I spoke to my sister Alison yesterday and my friend Allison last week. I’m minimizing the number of names I talk to as I maximize the number of people. Does Katherine and Katrina count? They are really the same name.
I didn’t watch any live streaming concerts today! That’s a first. I am watching and listening to Eugene Onegin from the Metropolitan Opera. They are doing One free streaming on demand recording of their HD Live series a day. The new ones start at 7:30 each night. Starting tonight it’s Wagner week, that means I’ll be giving them my full attention, not just listening as I do other things. You can find them here, Nightly Met Opera Streams. I made interesting food since I started to write, poutinized grits ala Horvendile for breakfast. It was the best I’ve made yet. Everyone should mix in cheddar curds into their poutine. It’s chewie. This is what it looks like.
I was good today and both showered and shaved. I haven’t missed many days showering, but I have put off washing my hair. It was a bit distressing see how much hair found its way down the drain. I love showering but I don’t like what I need to do after showering. I don’t like shaving, but I love the way I feel when I’m finished. Nothing makes you feel as fresh as a shower and shave together. I now look good and nobody can see me. You can.
I need to write a list of tips for streaming concerts piece for here or Facebook or both. It’s not happening today. A picture is worth 10,000 words and I gave you two pictures so this counts as at least a short story.
