Tidbits of My Life

I did not go for a walk yesterday and was sleepy all morning today? Is that cause and effect? Do I need my daily exposure to light? I don’t know and I don’t know how to figure it out. The sleepiness can also be from depression. In any even it’s better for me in every way if I go out and walk every day. It’s fine to stay in now and then but walking is good for me. To make up for it I walked an extra mile today. I’m still averaging 3.57mi/day for the last week and 3.01mi/day over the last month. That’s the first time I got my monthly average over 3mi/day since I started keeping track. Do I feel better now? Not really, but I feel better about myself. I haven’t pushed myself in years. I should see if I can still walk eight miles. I’m sure I could as I am not winded, and my muscles aren’t sore after five.

I have to phone charging packs, a small one good for one full charge and a bigger heavier one good for three. When I go out for my walk I like to take the smaller one. I only need it if somebody calls me as I walk. Just listening to music, radio, or a podcast won’t drain it in the time I’m out. When it’s fully charged I keep charger with my keys. It’s where I can grab it as I head out. Today it wasn’t there. The only other place it should be is getting charged, and it wasn’t there either. Whenever I ask Katrina what she did with my missing items she said she ate them. Can you believe she comes down from New Hampshire just to eat my stuff? It isn’t even edible. I’m also missing the charging cable for my wireless earbuds. I’m holding out hope that it’s with my charger and I’ll eventually either remember where I put them or stumble upon them by accident.

The Mets played a rare afternoon doubleheader and won both games! 1-0 and 4-2. They remind me of the Mets of the early 70s, airtight pitching and no hitting. They scored two runs in the second game via bases-loaded walks. That’s their specialty. They lead the league. Even with all their best players hurt the games are exciting and I enjoy them. In honor of half the team being called up from their AAA farm team in Syracuse I made Syracuse salt potatoes for dinner last night. Good thing the Mets are playing Colorado not the Phillies or the cheese stead I had would have been disloyal. I varied the cheesesteak in two ways. First I used mozzarella, secondly I didn’t use A1 or barbecue sauce. I wanted to see how it was plain. The answer is great. I could really taste the diced garlic I mix with the steak. Garlic should be standard in cheesesteak. It makes so much sense, in a sense cheesesteak is sauteed steak so you might as well sauté garlic at the same time. I use olive oil.

I checked something on Facebook for a nonce and saw an alert that Jo Kroger was streaming live. I used to watch her Thursday evening concerts every week then I stopped. Why? That wasn’t a rhetorical question, I was hoping you knew, I don’t. It has something to do with my daily routine and for some reason this week it’s different. Hopefully, I’ll be around to watch next week. She did my favorite song of hers. I don’t think she knows it’s my favorite song of hers. I don’t even know the name of the song. Jo, what’s the title? It’s the movie one, it echoes Science Fiction Double Feature and name checks MST3K. That should be enough to make half my friends want to hear it.

But here’s the thing. Jo gave me an idea to write about, something substantial about myself. The problem is that I couldn’t tear myself away to write it and now I’m dying of starvation. I hope I remember it tomorrow when I blog. I can’t blame Jo for distracting me as she also inspired me. I had no idea what I was going to write till then. I put the idea on my calendar as a task to do tomorrow morning. That’s right, morning. I’ll try and blog then. Now to make my dinner. I’ve hardly made a dent in the free food they handed out that day.
