I’d Walk Five Miles for Pub Fries

I left the  house yesterday! After two days inside I needed a longer walk, Krispy Kreme wouldn’t suffice. Instead of a Donut Walk™ I went on a Pub Fries Walk™ and grocery shopping trip. A week and a half ago I went on a Pub Fries Walk™ because Wendy’s had an offer on the app for free Pub Fries, natural cut, sea salt fries topped with applewood smoked bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and warm beer cheese sauce, with any purchase. You can see why that would interest me. When I got there the offer wouldn’t work. I ordered a frosty and tried to use the offer and it kept saying that I needed to buy something. It showed the frosty in my order but not the billing part. I gave up. I called up Wendy’s and they gave me a store credit for the cost of the fries. Wendy’s is on Broadway along with Aldi, so I stopped on the way to get my fries. As it was approximately 190º F and 162% humidity I ordered a frosty too. When I tried to use store credit the app said I already had an offer on the order and would have to drop that to use the credit which is processed like an offer. The old offer was still pending even though it didn’t show on the app. So, I got my Frosty and free Pub Fries, and still have the credit to use another time. For the win! Then I walked to Aldi and instead of taking the bus home I walked. I found a route that avoids the stairs which are difficult to navigate with my wheeled thermal cart. It’s longer, but I don’t mind longer as I’m trying to get exercise. My app said I walked 5.1 miles, but the phone went dead for a while, so it was more than that. I didn’t feel tired out, but I did end up taking a nap last night. My muscles don’t get sore but my feet tingle, I don’t know how else to put it. I can feel that they are there. It’s the next day and I feel my ankles. I will not let that stop me from going out again today. The weather is good and that means I take my walk. It’s been days since I had a donut; there’s my incentive.

The pub fries were almost enough for the evening, so I didn’t feel guilty about having peanut butter for dinner. It’s nice not having to cook in this heat. Can I just put food in the pan and let the sun cook it? That would be so energy efficient. They do make solar grills, the use a big Fresnel lens to focus the sunlight. I would like to try that some time, perfect for a July 4th lunchtime picnic. I just checked online, and the technology has changed in 30 or 40 years since I heard about them. All the ads I see work with mirrors. Fresnel is coming back and there is one in development that works at night!  Wilson Solar Grill Stores the Sun’s Energy for Nighttime Fuel-Free Grilling. How great would that be at Falcon Ridge?

I just got a late addition to next week’s Gord’s Gold; that meant taking out one song I had planned. I’ll just delay it a week. Now I’m listening to the entire show and even though I just listened to them as I chose the songs  I get excited when I hear them. How come nobody else plays exactly the music I love and nothing else? Oh, reminds me of an idiot story. There’s usually an idiot story. Gord’s Gold streams on Tuesday night. I like to send in my report of what I played to the Folk DJ list as it airs. I can do it any time before the end of the month, but I like to keep in regular, once a week. To make sure I get the formatting right I check the previous weeks email. When I went to do it, I saw that I never sent out the previous week’s report. Why? I’m an idiot. It’s also because I didn’t listen the previous week. I think I was listening to the Met game. I had it all prepared, so I sent out the previous week’s playlist. Then I saw that I didn’t research the labels of the songs I played this week, so I had to do that. I sent that out today.

I need to go out and take my walk so I will hold off writing what I planned. I forgot what it was then remembered. I was now very good and wrote it down, so I’ll have it ready tomorrow. Now I better go. I need my Donut Walk™ and I have to write and record Gord’s Gold today.
