J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets!

Yesterday I did something I haven’t done in years; I went to a football game, Jets vs Jaguars. The Jets are awful. The Jags are awful. I’m not a big football fan. Why did I go? To hang out with Alan and give myself street cred as an American male. It took four trains to get there: The D and A to Penn station and then NJ Transit to Secaucus then the Meadowlands. They don’t have an option for a single ride to the Meadowlands. Normally the NJ Transit trains would be credit but not that many fans went to the game. On the bright side the weather was nice. For most of the game I didn’t even wear my jacket. That was only because our seats are in the sun and there wasn’t much wind. I did have a hoodie. It was a fun game with some exciting plays. On a broken play the Jets quarterback Zach Wilson ran 52 yards for a touchdown. The Jets’ Braxton Berios ran back a kickoff 101 yards for a touchdown. The Jets were up by five at the end of the game and the Jags came close to scoring a game winning touchdown.

I did something I haven’t done in ages. I stopped at Popeyes on the way home for dinner, take-out of course. Their chicken sandwich is great. If you haven’t tried it yet do so. They also have Cajun fries.

After dinner I finished recording my favorite albums of the year show. The toughest part was getting it down to under an hour. I didn’t make it a top ten list but an hour’s worth of music and talk show. I just not realized it was a top 13, good thing I’m not superstitious. I also picked a single and an EP, so it was 15 songs in all. The show is not a countdown, except for the top album I sequenced the songs to fit together best, not in order of how much I liked them. There is no way I can assign ordinals to 13th albums. There are albums not on the list just as good as the ones on it. Albums are not completely ordered by appeal. I have learned for math that there are many sets like that, and it is not a flaw. You can’t always say that A>B or A<B or A=B. The show will be streamed Thursday night at 9 PM EST on Folk Music Notebook. The next day you can listen on Mixcloud, Gord’s Gold. I will be publishing the complete list and commentary here. I can’t wait to see what albums I chose.

I’m going to keep it short today and not add my usual thoughts on politics, society, people, or philosophy. Instead, I’m going to eat bacon and eggs on flatbread.
