I’m going to post my favorite albums of the year list tonight at 9 PM to coincide with my Favorites of 2021 show on Folk Music Notebook. Set your alarms now because you don’t want to miss it. In light of that I’m going to do something strange today, link to a blog from eight years ago. I found it because photographer and friend John Kramer posted a photo collage of the performers at the 2013 Tribe’s Hill Solstice Show presented by Carter Smith. I wondered if I went, I thought not so I checked my blog and found this entry which eludes to why I wasn’t there.
Sometimes I read an old entry that I forgot about and think, “I like the person that wrote this,” or “I wish I could write something like that.” This entry is one of those, it’s me being the best me. It’s told in the form of a fairy tale, it’s creative, it has a distinct voice that demonstrates one of the ways my mind works. I wouldn’t want to write something like this every day, but I would like to do so more often than I do. It’s hosted on Diaryland. That is more awkward to use but I like the way I could personalize. The entire look is my choice, and I could include elements that I miss, especially the quotes at the time. The third is my favorite literary quote. The second is unfortunately relevant. It ends with a favorite song by a favorite artist. This is what it’s like to be me. Now follow the link to There’s Nothing Fair About a Fairy Tale.
