Keep Dilbert, I’ll Take Elbert

The WFUV member drive is over and I’m back to writing. It was a tough week for me; I was always on the verge of falling sleep, right now I’m on the verge of falling asleep. The only time I wasn’t in danger of falling asleep was when I was in bed trying to go […]

You Can’t Tell the Players Without a Program

Today’s edition of Wise Madness is about seeing the Anna/Kate Band. Now that I got the attention grabbing lede out of the way I can work my way up to it in my round-about manner. I’m getting a late start today. I woke up my usual time, went to my computer, and within 20 minutes […]

Return to City Island

I was not inspired yesterday so I didn’t write. Of course later in the day when I was out I got inspired. Even more of course I don’t remember half of what I wanted to write. I do remember what I did so I’ll write about that. I decided to go back to Jane and […]

Call of the Conference

Sorry I didn’t write yesterday. I did not get nearly enough sleep at night so slept late in the day. I didn’t get enough sleep last night either but I can’t miss two days in a row. This is why a kind and benevolent universe evolved caffeine. I hate to have to point this out […]

Prince Myshkin Rides Again

Have I ever mentioned that I’m an idiot? If I weren’t an idiot I’d know the answer. For weeks I’ve been looking forward to seeing Red Molly at City Winery on Labor Day and taking Katherine for her birthday. I put it on my calendar months ago. I told Sasha Papernik and Justin Poindexter aka […]

Rave About Dave

Between my health and my computer’s I have not been writing as often as I’d like Today’s edition will be about my computer’s well-being. The power cord had issues. First it had to be positioned just right. I tried to buy a new one on Wednesday when I was at Best Buy but they were […]

No Fuss and Feathers and Lots of Fuss

On Friday I went to an ultimate home game, No Fuss and Feathers Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 3. A band made up of four good friends, at the venue where I am often greeted by name, and an audience filled with friends.

D Train! D Train!

I don’t have that much time so I’m going to blast away and write about yesterday without much thought and see how that works out. If it’s short it’s short. I have therapy on Fridays at 2:45; I usually schedule my psychiatrist appointments immediately afterward but that means I’m often rushed going to whatever my […]

Sophie is Choice

I’m the guy that goes out every night to hear music. That’s the first thing people think of me. I’m the guy with scores of friends, my therapist is amazed. I think she’s just surprised that anyone would even talk to me. No, I’m not running myself down, that’s a joke son, just a joke. Yesterday was the 19th and the last time I went out or saw a friend in person was the 7th. I didn’t even have a conversation with anyone till the night before. The only thing I needed my voice for was talking to Google. Last night I made my way to the far end of the desert.
