A* Likely Story

I’m trying something new, dedicating an entire entry to an album review. Is this thinking ahead? My last entry was my 2000-word opus on the essential albums of 2023. If I write reviews as the albums come in, I’ll save all that time at the end of the year. When I wrote the Essential Albums […]

No Fuss and Feathers, Makes a Great Day

I have no excuse for not blogging until 2:19 PM on a day where I have to make a shopping trek and then go out tonight. Now that I got my guilt out of the way I’ll talk about yesterday’s actual adventure. I not only left New York City but I crossed the Hudson River. […]

The Costa the Costa

Your Humble Diarist awoke from uneasy dreams to find himself transformed into a sleepy awake person. It was not the dreams; it was my usual combination of digestive and breathing issues. But one of the dreams was uneasy. I was Rodin’s Thinker, and somebody placed me in the bed, and I rolled on my side […]

Bye Bye Love

I traveled 43 miles by train yesterday. That seems short but it’s what the Google Maps summary says. I might be misinterpreting it. It was a peripatetic day. As most Fridays do it started with therapy, or more accurately getting to therapy. Yesterday that means walking half a mile and taking a bus half a […]

La Mer La Mer

I didn’t think I’d be writing this morning as I have to leave the house before I start writing on most days but it looks like somehow I’m pulling this off. Now I have to stay on task so I can both write and eat. Yesterday’s adventure was seeing The Sea The Sea at Rockwood […]

(The Sea)²

Yesterday was a busy day, therapy, my first time at an old restaurant, and seeing The Sea The Sea at City Vineyard. It was my first time at the venue. The thing that makes it a long day is that therapy is in Harrison, quite a bit north of New York City, and City Vineyard is in Tribeca, far south Manhattan.

You Can’t Tell the Players Without a Program

Today’s edition of Wise Madness is about seeing the Anna/Kate Band. Now that I got the attention grabbing lede out of the way I can work my way up to it in my round-about manner. I’m getting a late start today. I woke up my usual time, went to my computer, and within 20 minutes […]

Weekend Update

Since I last blogged I’ve been to two concerts, therapy, and had adventures in phones and air conditioning. My life isn’t all that exciting but calling things adventures helps.

Kataklysm

I did make it out of the house, just in time, to see Kat Quinn at the Sidewalk café. I made it there in just an hour, that was exciting. Dan saved me a seat. This was Kat’s farewell show, she’s moving to LA. My usual joke is to say that it’s because she hates me, but as you’ll discover, that just won’t work today.
