Ahh, the pleasure of writing my blog on my computer. This is the way things are supposed to be. I’m still recovering from the WFUV member drive but we’ll see if the comfort of familiar surroundings makes itself felt in the writing. I was scheduled to work only a half day yesterday, 6 AM to […]

Barnaby Jones Bright
Last night I did the same thing I did the previous evening, I went to see Barnaby Bright, this time at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2. As has been happening too often I had subway problems so I didn’t have time to go to the newish Lower East Side Trader Joe’s for the first time […]
I’m racing against the clock I have 35 minutes until the Met game starts. I have to watch that on a TV in another room where using my computer is more difficult and I don’t want to be distracted. Yesterday was a busy day, not good when racing the blogging clock. I might have to […]
In therapy Friday I complained that I had nothing to do this weekend. Then things turned up, Friday night I went to Lincoln Center and last night to Carnegie Hall. Like the woman in front of me on the line to see Shakespeare in the Park in 1980, I am a culture vulture. She spoke […]
Song and Dance
The worst laid schemes o’ Mice an’ Men Gang aft for the best. Yesterday was Friday so I trekked up to Harrison for therapy. As I was getting ready to leave I went to the bathroom and discovered that cats left me three messes to clean up. I raced to clean them quickly and raced […]
I’m back in good health, not 100% but close enough for government work. Last night I felt good enough to try eating and had breakfast for dinner, poached eggs, cheese, and ham on naan. I lived. This morning, technically afternoon I had breakfast for lunch, sausageeggandcheese on naan. I survived! There’s no discomfort. In the […]
Yesterday was the second Tuesday of the month, My Gentle Readers should know where I was. That’s right, John Platt’s On Your Radar. John’s guests were Plywood Cowboy, Sophie Buskin, and Genevieve. OYR is always a home game. I decided last night that I’m not going to give my usual list of friends in the audience, I’m going to just give you a count. You know you should add at least one to the total as I always forget people. I just counted 15. The room holds only 60 and that count doesn’t include John and his wife Sheila. And then there were the performers.
Yes! I’m starting to write before 10! That counts as a victory, especially when I have a 1 PM appointment. I set my accomplishment bar low. Last night I went to see Sam Baker at Kathryn’s Space. This is both exciting and a home game. Sam is at the pinnacle of my musicians, and Kathryn […]
The soundtrack of today’s edition of Wise Madness is the Metropolitan Opera’s new production of Das Rheingold. Will that inspire or intimidate me. The Ring Cycle is the tale of the universe from birth to death; pretty big shoes to fill. I’ll stick to talking about Deni Bonet, therapy, and food. I missed therapy last […]
A Month of Music
I did something I’m not happy about yesterday. I had a psychiatrist appointment. The stupid insurance company won’t pay if I see my therapist and psychiatrist the same day; that means two separate treks to Harrison. My appointment was at noon. The way the train and bus schedule work out that means having to take […]
