Then I hunted down union songs. I started to preach to the masses, my eyes started to glow. When my eyes do the glowing thing I have to give in and write. I’m no longer a free agent but a vessel of the truth.

Between my health and my computer’s I have not been writing as often as I’d like Today’s edition will be about my computer’s well-being. The power cord had issues. First it had to be positioned just right. I tried to buy a new one on Wednesday when I was at Best Buy but they were […]
I’m going to write about values and ideals that I’ve had since childhood and this album evokes them, Dar evokes them, Falcon Ridge evokes them. I’m addressing this to the people I love that share my love of the album, the artist, and the festival, and share those values, but whose blind spots I see. I’m not saying that they, or should I say, you, have blind spots. That’s pointless, we all have blind spots. I’m in the passenger seat adjusting the side view mirror for you. You’d do the same for me.
We Are All Us
To me, the heart of liberalism is an expansive view of “Us.” Right wing populism is about protecting Us against Them. Who is Us and who is Them varies but this idea that there is a foreign element, people that don’t share our values, that are out to get us.
I’m still moving through molasses. I got nothing accomplished yesterday and nothing so far today. My wrangler, Bri is doing their best. Wish them and me luck. It’s taken me all day to start writing this. In addition to work on the computer I have to do laundry and go shopping. The one bright spot, […]
I’m not a nationalist but I am a patriot. The one ritual I practice every year is reading the Declaration of Independence. This centuries-old document finds new ways to be relevant; that is the genius of Jefferson. The bulk of it is a list of specific abuses of the crown but even they can find modern parallels. I always present the Declaration here by either posting the text or a link to the text. This year I’m posting the actual text and bolding the parts that speak to me. It won’t be difficult to imagine who currently plays the role of George III.
Rockin’ the Bronx
I have not left the house since I last wrote but I have enough to write about without having to delve into politics; I’m going to write about the apartment and the neighborhood.
Weird day. I couldn’t get myself to write earlier. I got anxious just thinking of getting off my chair and making breakfast. After I showered I went to check out the local Foodtown to see if it can be my prime supermarket. That would be great as it’s just a nine-minute walk away. A decent […]
I am finding going to write my immigration blog; I’ve been running it over and over in my head; not that it will make it any better. But first a word from our sponsor, my life.
Yesterday, I defended your freedom by looking silly. I look silly every day; but yesterday I used my silliness for good. Others were perhaps sillier, and clearly more talented than me. Before I get to that I’ll tell you my adventure as an eco-warrior. As happens to so many soldiers in wartime I did things I regret.
