More Perfect Union

It’s not the Fourth of July, it’s not a patriotic holiday, but I’m feeling the fire of patriotism burning in me. The spark that ignited it came from President Trump, but not in the way he intended. His words and actions to “Make America Great Again” are an affront to American values, and it’s those […]

Fear is the Mind-Killer

It’s time to preach again; the subject of today’s sermon is fear. In the last week there was a massacre in a synagogue, two blacks killed in a store when the killer couldn’t get into the black church, and a spate of bombs sent to opponents of Trump through the mail. Our fight or flight […]

Alan LX

Living in the Bronx means taking a trek most days. Yesterday’s was an extra long one to Greenvale Long Island. What would bring me out to that suburban backwater? Alan’s surprise 60th birthday party. I had tickets to see Vienna Teng and Jean Rohe was doing a co-bill with Rachael Kilgore but they’ll all play […]

All Hail Slambovia

Yesterday I went to the Grand Slambovian Halloween Ball. It was at Irvington Town Hall and produced by The Common Ground Community Concerts, Carter’s domain. That meant I was working the show. I usually do merch but The Slambovians provide their own merch person so my job was to help set up the Halloween decorations and do whatever else needs to be done.

Baseball and Slambovian Time

I did not think I’d have time to write this morning. I’m helping decorate Irvington Town Hall for the Grand Slambovians annual Halloween show. I was told to be there at 12:16, meaning I had to leave at 11:00 and I was up late because of the World Series. I got a text this morning […]

Home Game

I went out to see Carolann Solebello and Joe Iadanzalast night so I have something to write about. See the sacrifices I make for My Gentle Readers? When I got there Sharon was surprised, she thought I said I couldn’t make it. I was insulted, there is no way that I’m missing Carolann and Joe […]

This is part of my evangelism. But I like to accentuate the positive and I’m more driven to tell My Gentle Readers, and anyone without the sound of my voice, about the great things in the world.

Take This With a Grain of Salt

I hate the circadian cycle I’m suck in. it’s 3:46 PM and I’m just now starting to write. I found myself awake at 2:30 last night for no good reason. I woke up at 6:30, went to the bathroom and back to bed. My alarm woke me at 8:30, I got out of bed, but […]

Gentle on My Mind

I have not done anything exciting in a while which makes blogging a challenge. I could just write what’s on my mind at the moment. It’s pretty hard to think past the Eggo Thick & Fluffy Double Chocolate Waffle I just ate. I love that there are these simple relatively inexpensive, easy to make foods […]

InFLUencing You

A miracle occurred, I remember what I wanted to write about. It took so long that now I have to take a break to eat, but never fear, I know I’m an idiot and wrote down my blogging plan. It turns out that I’m a procrastinating idiot. It is now 11:50 PM and I’m racing […]
