Identity is Not a Genre

I need to get out more. Staying home puts too much pressure on my blogging. I have two ideas for today’s blog, much better than when I sit here hoping that one comes to me. Time out, the WQXR announcer said “Richard” Strauss with “Richard” pronounced like Richard Nixon not the German “Rick-hard” Is she […]

Flailing

I can’t win when it comes to sleeping. Last night I got to bed at a decent hour but I woke up an hour and a half early. I hate being tired all day. I’ll probably nap at some point, without trying to. I’ll just fall asleep in the middle of something. I have a […]

You Can’t Tell the Players Without a Program

Today’s edition of Wise Madness is about seeing the Anna/Kate Band. Now that I got the attention grabbing lede out of the way I can work my way up to it in my round-about manner. I’m getting a late start today. I woke up my usual time, went to my computer, and within 20 minutes […]

Anti-Procrastination

I slept late and I had a late start writing today; for once that’s appropriate. It’s what I’m going to write about, at least after I write about yesterday. I’ll put it off a little longer. It’s Friday, what do I do every Friday? You with your hand up in the back; Right I go […]

Mugs, Joints, and Electronics

I want to stop by WFUV and drop off some CDs before I go to therapy today so I have to leave a half hour early. I better get started writing. I’ll start with something from Wednesday I neglected to talk about yesterday. I went back to the rheumatologist. My MRI and x-rays results came […]

Jenkins, Hartman, and Ashton: Attorney’s at Law; or not.

Last night I went to a great concert, Courtney Hartman & Taylor Ashton and Steph Jenkins. I’m uncertain how to say that; On the Facebook Event it was Courtney Hartman & Taylor Ashton // Steph Jenkins but on the Rockwood Page it was Stephanie. Let me check her brand-new EP, End to End. And the winner is … “Steph.” Good that’s what I’d call her without thinking.

You Can’t Judge a Human By Its Cover

My therapist has me make a list of my achievements; today’s is registering for NERFA. Now I have to find a roommate. Registering is difficult for me, it’s an anxiety trigger; most monetary transactions are. I rarely get a roommate and registered with much time to spare. Fortunately, NERFA is understanding of my problems and […]

Erin and the Emerald Isle (nothing to do with Ireland)

I spent yesterday first as an IT savior and then seeing Emerald Rae and Jess Clinton. That was followed by a re-enactment of the Odyssey on the New York City subway.

Sisterly Advice

This is going to start with a lot of complaining but then switch to a celebration of wonderful things. You can skip down to that if you want to. It starts after the horizontal line. I had a frustrating day; my plan was to go over to Jane’s house and try and get the internet […]

The Wright Stuff

My eyes aren’t glowing and I’m not glowering. I’m not going to preach and I’m not going to tell you what you’re doing and thinking wrong. I look at my Facebook feed and see fear and despair. That calls for a thanksgiving and hope edition of Wise Madness. I’m not even going to tell you […]
