Sick Day

My digestive issues have moved passed minor. I’m having what I used to call a Crohn’s attack but my current doctor says that I shouldn’t. It’s not an active inflammation, it’s an obstruction caused by old damage. I’m not in pain but I have not eaten since Thursday night. I have been spending most of […]

Choices

As I expected, I didn’t go out last night. I was able to eat but it was late. I had minor digestive issues. What I ate when I could will surprise many of you, Buffalo wings. Spices are not the sort of thing that bothers me and I need something tasty to motivate me. I […]

Charlie Brown vs The Purple Man

The reason I’m starting late is that I have a quandary; There is a concert that I very much want to go to tonight, The Sandcatchers with special guest Jean Rohe, but I’m having a minor health issue. While Jean is on my “see when possible” list, I see her so often that if there’s […]

I’ve Run Out of Radar Puns

Yesterday was the second Tuesday of the month, My Gentle Readers should know where I was. That’s right, John Platt’s On Your Radar. John’s guests were Plywood Cowboy, Sophie Buskin, and Genevieve. OYR is always a home game. I decided last night that I’m not going to give my usual list of friends in the audience, I’m going to just give you a count. You know you should add at least one to the total as I always forget people. I just counted 15. The room holds only 60 and that count doesn’t include John and his wife Sheila. And then there were the performers.

Who Let the Fox in the Henhouse?

Yesterday I went for my second infusion. It went smoother than the first one but the “hour” appointment took almost three hours. It started the same frustrating way but this time it was more frustrating. When I arrive I sign in. When my name was called I was taken to have my blood tested. Last […]

The Tale of the Baker and the Roll

Yes! I’m starting to write before 10! That counts as a victory, especially when I have a 1 PM appointment. I set my accomplishment bar low. Last night I went to see Sam Baker at Kathryn’s Space. This is both exciting and a home game. Sam is at the pinnacle of my musicians, and Kathryn […]

I Enjoy A Good Ribbing

We set the clocks ahead last night. That doesn’t mean we lose an hour’s sleep. It doesn’t mean we lose an hour at all. It does mean that the next thing you have scheduled will start an hour sooner. It’s no different than if they moved the time up an hour. So I didn’t lose […]

Deni Thing Goes

The soundtrack of today’s edition of Wise Madness is the Metropolitan Opera’s new production of Das Rheingold. Will that inspire or intimidate me. The Ring Cycle is the tale of the universe from birth to death; pretty big shoes to fill. I’ll stick to talking about Deni Bonet, therapy, and food. I missed therapy last […]

A Month of Music

I did something I’m not happy about yesterday. I had a psychiatrist appointment. The stupid insurance company won’t pay if I see my therapist and psychiatrist the same day; that means two separate treks to Harrison. My appointment was at noon. The way the train and bus schedule work out that means having to take […]

La Mer La Mer

I didn’t think I’d be writing this morning as I have to leave the house before I start writing on most days but it looks like somehow I’m pulling this off. Now I have to stay on task so I can both write and eat. Yesterday’s adventure was seeing The Sea The Sea at Rockwood […]
