Wise MadnessTo me, the heart of liberalism is an expansive view of “Us.” Right wing populism is about protecting Us against Them. Who is Us and who is Them varies but this idea that there is a foreign element, people that don’t share our values, that are out to get us.
Yesterday, I defended your freedom by looking silly. I look silly every day; but yesterday I used my silliness for good. Others were perhaps sillier, and clearly more talented than me. Before I get to that I’ll tell you my adventure as an eco-warrior. As happens to so many soldiers in wartime I did things I regret.
